On a recent APMA news brief, it’s been reported, all health-care providers who conduct certain transactions in electronic form, under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, must be ready to implement Version 5010 transactions standards on January 1, 2012.

The Durable Medical Equipment Medicare Administrative Contractors have conducted pre-payment audits on therapeutic shoe claims. With a 93 percent failure rate on some claims, the APMA would like to get your information regarding payment audits. They will use this in their meeting with DME MAC medical directors at the beginning of October.
